Digital Technology
The Software that we used for our final product was Adobe
Premiere Elements 10, we found that this was useful in helping us improve our
film and putting it all together. This help us ensure it was up to the standard
we wanted. This programme enabled us to edit our film and to correct anything
that needed adjusting, such as the lighting and sound. We were able to play
soundtracks and music over the top of our film and place the music in the
correct place so that It would play at certain times, because the programme
allowed us to put filters and effects into the scenes we could make the
lighting darker and add a misty effect to make the lighting fit in with our
chosen genre. The effects played a massive part in our film as they helped our
film try and be more like a horror genre by allowing us to make sudden sharp
noises and the sense of fear at the end by using a faded effect in time with a hear
beat.
The equipment that we used in our film was a camera; this
was used to film all of the different camera angles and shots that we took for
our final product. We also used a camera to record our film diaries to show how
we were planning on making our film and the steps we went through to do it,
which helped understand more about our film. We only used a couple of props in
our final product which was a scarf and a phone. They were mainly used as
distractions in our film so that the victims missed vital parts of the film
that would have changed it all completely, such as not seeing the figure in the
woods.
The technical pros of the software, Adobe Premiere Elements
and blogger, was that they were they enabled us to create our film. Blogger helped us keep track of what we were doing and let us research more into our film and let us see if our ideas would work and as we could look into every tiny detail, Blogger also meant that we could watch tutorials of who to use the software and to upload it to watch. Another pro of premiere elements was that it meat we could edit our film and make it look more realistic and fit our genre. However there were cons with the software as me and Rachel had never edited anything before, Premiere Elements was pretty confusing as it had so many tools and ways to edit, we didn't know hat they meant and how to use them. The pros of the Hardware being the camera was that it meant we could film our final product and use a range of camera compositions and shot types to make our film more effective. The cons of the hardware was that we didn't use a tri pod so some of our camera shots and filming is a little wobbly and not clear, so the tri pod would of enabled us to keep the camera straight and still making the film look more professional.
